Fitness & Conditioning Coaching

For people with clear goals, unique needs and who want something more than a standard gym routine.

What I do
: specialise in integrated core and functional training.
What you get: fit for a purpose, and empowered to train your body to avoid injury.  You also increase  your enjoyment and performance in your activity or sport.
Who I work with: unique people with clear goals.
I get to help with a lot of non-standard situations (injury recovery, disability, conditions),
people who have clear goals (specific preparation for a sport or activity),
and people that just don't have time to meet a personal trainer in a gym, or who prefer to train outdoors.
Some examples of clients with specialized training considerations: elite athletes, injury recovery/post-rehab, people with MS or other conditions, joint replacement recovery, distance runners,'silver age' active folks equestrians
Where we work: indoors or out, your home space or other gym.
What you need: We can use fixed or portable equipment, or environmental features like playground/park apparatus or natural features.  We can incorporate your favourite activities and the equipment you have access to into your overall training plan.  Personal training also includes help with nutrition, lifestyle planning or athlete training plans. It's about making your training, work for you.
How we work: When we can't meet in person, we can work online.  Personal fitness online coaching packages are available. I can also be Skyped in to do talks or small group workshops on fitness, health or related topics.  I have worked with clients online in 5 continents.

What else: I have chosen not to restrict my training approach to any particular modality (ie: Pilates or weight training) or piece of equipment.  Each client has different personal and activity related needs.  While all training includes a focus on core strength and functional movement, we use whatever modality or kinds of activities that will best help you achieve your goals. Also, I don't sell gimmicks. It's not my goal to make money pretending that you need to be dependent on me or a special proprietary system. It's my goal to train you to reach your goals, and give you tools you can take into the rest of your life.

I am also a leading specialist in fitness and biomechanics coaching specific to people who work with and ride horses.

My Background: I was initially certified through CanFit Pro as a personal trainer.  Since then I did additional training in sport conditioning and biomechanics, sport psychology basics, fitness for people with disabilities, and Facilitated Stretch Therapy.  Over time I developed a focus on integrated core and functional training due to working with many athletes, dancers and people with medical conditions, or coming out of injury or joint replacement surgery.
