Life coaching helps you identify and achieve your dreams whether at work or in life. Wellbeing coaching is more specifically about balancing everything you need to be, with being the fitter, healthier you.

Wellbeing coaching is an extension of personal training that focuses more on the overall patterns of your life, to help you let your inner healthy person shine. You can be fitter. You can balance your life. Being well shouldn't feel like swimming upstream. The program covers physical activity, nutritional basics, beliefs about body which may be sabotaging you, and lifestyle patterns. A healthier bodyweight is a natural outcome of living better. You can live better, have more joy, be free of negative self-messages today.
Our cultural obsession with perfection and body image damages millions of people. Our parallel consumer culture and information overload make healthy choice more difficult. You can have a life that makes it easier to be your best self.
Deep down, we resent pressure to conform to someone else's standards for health and beauty. But we still want to feel beautiful and be at peace with ourselves. We know that health risks increase when we let healthy living go, or struggle but can't seem to quite get there to make it happen. Yet, weight loss and threat of ill health are negative reasons to make change, and usually don't help a person achieve long term healthy habits. Neither do blitz diets. Some of those reasons might help you take yourself seriously enough to do something about it..but there is no need to waste more time and money on fad approaches or negative motivation. Coaching is a positive approach that works with who you are, where you are at, to realistically achieve more than you have thought possible.
How it Works The coaching process starts with an assessment of your strengths and challenges, helps you connect your fitness and health to your values and purpose, and helps you establish patterns that are sustainable. Wellbeing coaching can be done over the phone or Skype, or in person.
Since I am also a personal trainer and sport coach, you can access 'one stop shopping' (personal training as well as the larger picture of wellbeing and lifestyle). If you already have fitness activities or a weight-loss program, we can still work together. Wellbeing coaching is about finding the missing puzzle pieces and helping you fit the pieces together for a sustainable lifestyle.
Setting up a lifestyle structure that supports health and fitness, or helps you reach important fitness or sport goals, can cover everything from the bigger picture of how you structure your week, to what's in your cupboard/fridge, to what you have planned in your workout.
We can focus on your health and fitness, or other aspects of life balance that mean the most to you. We can work indoors, or outside. Sometimes being in calming environments like nature, and using your body (such as walking or paddling) while engaging in coaching can help you become more internally connected and free your left and right hemisphere to work better together. You also get 'two-for-one': exercise while you work on the other aspects of your self and your life plan.

What I Believe about Wellbeing Coaching I do not sell nutritional products or expensive supplements. I believe that health and wellbeing are achievable for all budgets. I do not push a proprietary product or activity. I work with clients to incorporate reasonable food and activity choices that are sustainable for you. Also, even though I am a personal trainer, wellbeing coaching is about putting all the puzzle pieces together. If you have a workout or weight-loss program already in place, those can be accommodated in your plan. I can do your fitness training as well (even by Skype)- which is something many life coaches who are not experienced fitness trainers or sport coaches cannot help you with. But I don't need to be your fitness trainer too. Often people who already have some great pieces in place as far as healthy living goes, are in a great spot for coaching because you already have a few of the puzzle pieces together and just need help with the bigger life structure picture, or deeper work on thoughts that block you from taking things to the next level. Maintaining a healthy body weight or a life that helps you reach your goals, should not feel like a constant battle. Although the coaching process is an important investment at the beginning, and intensive, you are not signing on for life. My goal is to empower you not to need me. A Little About my Experience and Education: I have been a business and non profit management professional with national responsibility, entrepreneur and sport coach. I've been an international corporate sales trainer, directed national sport program change, driven business & program growth, pulled stakeholder teams together across the country, written and influenced policy, improved business processes, increased funding. I've worked in three of Canada's major cities, and started a fitness business in a small town, becoming a leader in sport conditioning in my sport. I've been a competitive athlete and a conditioning trainer for Olympic and world athletes. I'm an international public speaker and author. I've been coaching people for over 10 years, with years of corporate performance coaching and training before that. I recently completed my PhD in psycho-social development and resilience through sport and recreation in nature.
The Path is Rarely Straightforward: It hasn't always been a steady uphill path. I've been through downsizing, company reorganizations and needing to re-adapt and re-direct my career entirely several times. I've also been through some tough personal times including divorce, poverty, abuse and eating-disorder. I know what it's like to overcome adversity, take on challenges bigger than you are and succeed through planning and teamwork, in the workplace and in the health and sport.
I know what it's like to feel like you are standing at a crossroads, or the edge of the next step up. I've been able to negotiate the changes and challenges, keep learning, growing and being productive in my work and personal life, doing work that has meaning and makes a difference. A better life is not just for those amazing people out there: it's for you.
The experiences mean I have the street-cred to understand because I have been there. The training means that I have the knowledge behind me to help you. Like you, I am always growing and learning forward. I am passionate about helping people be healthier, dream big and move forward.

Packages for Life & Wellbeing Coaching
Packages include weekly or biweekly personal contact (in person, or by Skype or phone for 30-60 minutes depending on the arrangement) and email/online support.
Success is strongly related to accountability and a clear plan, so regular contact is important.
A minimum initial one month package is recommended since it takes 21 days to form new habits. For more significant transformation and progress, 3-6 months is recommended.
